A Message From The President

I am delighted to be the new President of VCRCA. I have been a member for thirty years so it no doubt time for me to assume a leadership role in the organization. A lot has happened during this time.

Today we are faced with increasing pressures to maintain viable community-based programs in the face of flat or decreasing sources of revenue. I believe that one very important way to allay some of this difficulty is to demonstrate our effectiveness with the youth and families that we serve in such a manner that we are considered indispensable to our communities.

To accomplish this goal, we have to be not only accountable but also able and willing to communicate our accountability and effectiveness to those who make the policy and fiscal decisions at the local and state level. This is critical work that VCRCA has done in the past when emergencies have arisen. I believe that in today’s climate it deserves our constant and undivided attention. I look forward to working with all of you fine people for the next year. We welcome aboard anyone with a compassion for the work and enthusiasm for the future.
